About the Prize

As the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences believes in the importance of caring for scientists and researchers and encouraging distinguished scientific competencies in various branches of knowledge, and to motivate the Ph.D. holders of the country to devote themselves to research, study, authorship and translation in various branches of scientific production, and in support of the spirit of constructive competition between specialists, the Foundation announces the start of receiving applications Apply for the Jaber Al-Ahmad Prize for Young Researchers in the following fields:
Natural sciences and mathematics: in the fields of physics, chemistry, geology, mathematics, statistics, computers and other related disciplines
Engineering sciences: in the fields of chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical, petroleum, agricultural and other related disciplines.
Biological sciences: in the fields of botany - embryology - zoology - entomology - biochemistry - agriculture and livestock (veterinary: milk and dairy production - poultry, livestock and fish) - agricultural chemistry - agricultural diseases - microbiology and other related disciplines
Medical and allied sciences: in the fields of anatomy - pharmacology - physiology - microbiology - pathology - internal diseases - obstetrics and gynecology - children - psychiatry - radiology - surgery - dentistry, ophthalmology and other related disciplines
Social and human sciences: in the fields of anthropology - psychology - sociology - political science - history - geography - educational sciences - Arabic language - foreign languages - philosophy - law and Sharia and other related disciplines
Administrative and economic sciences: in the fields of business administration - marketing - industrial management - finance and investment - accounting - economics - insurance - public administration and other related disciplines
The winner in each of the aforementioned fields will receive a cash prize of 10,000 Kuwaiti dinars (ten thousand Kuwaiti dinars) along with a gold medal, the foundation’s shield and a certificate of appreciation.
Applications for the award are accepted according to the following conditions:
The applicant must be a Kuwaiti citizen.
To be a holder of a doctorate degree, and for the applicant to have at least 8 scientific papers published in refereed scientific journals that he published after obtaining his doctorate degree.
For applicants in the field of medical and paramedical sciences, an associate's degree is considered equivalent to a doctorate in other disciplines.
The age of the applicant should not be more than 45 years.
The submitted scientific production should include the following: Research published or accepted for publication in refereed scientific journals Research published in proceedings of scientific conferences written, translated or edited books or authorship of one or more chapters in a book Articles, studies, scientific reports and patents. Resulting from master's and doctoral theses in evaluating the candidate's scientific production.
The applicant’s scientific production follows the standards and principles of academic research integrity.
