Position Summary: UAE nationals are encouraged to apply New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Lab Manager reporting to the Professor of Biology and Data Science. The Lab Manager is responsible for administrative functions of the laboratory, including stock maintenance and ordering, permit processing and laboratory safety. They will also be expected to design and maintain the laboratory websites as well as help in the public outreach and collaboration arrangements of the laboratory with outside entities. Key Responsibilities: Train users on proper operation of instruments Provide technical support to the students in the lab Take care of the maintained inventory of tools, materials, and supplies Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance for equipment in the lab Maintain operation of instruments and equipment, and coordinate with vendors to install new equipment Maintain lab safety, train students in safety procedures, and communicate with NYUAD safety office; document and communicate laboratory and facility procedures General support of all research efforts in the lab Participate in some lab experiments Maintain and update the group website to represent the lab Assures that laboratory methods are performed according to SOPs Managing the research groups' public outreach Qualifications: Required Education: Ph.D. in Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology Required Experience: Research experience in plant biology and food sciences Experience in laboratory management Additional Information: About NYUAD NYU Abu Dhabi is a degree-granting research university with a fully integrated liberal arts and science undergraduate program in the Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Engineering.
